Here is a broad but not complete list of the old and famous convent schools. Most of these are in the main city areas like st. marks road, richmond road, residency road etc. These schools have been around for a very long time and follow the conventional teaching methodology. The biggest concerns for putting the kids there would be the class size (almost 60 kids in a class), high pressure environment and lack of freedom of expression for the kids (due to which they hate going to school)

Bishop Cottons operates as 2 different schools - Bishop cottons boys and Bishop cottons girls. Academically these are supposed to be the best schools of Bangalore. Needless to say, its tough to get admission for your child there and the selection criteria is unknown.

Baldwin is again divided into Baldwin Boys and Baldwin girls. They are located in Richmond Town. The school was one of the first to provide swimming facilities in Bangalore in 1940. It is also considered strong in Hockey, Football and chess.
