Anonymous Friend (122.252.227.138)  Please get a guide if you are trekking and dont haggle too much. We didnt take a guide during our first trek due to some foolhardy group members. The trek turned out to be the worst nightmare come true.We are happy to be alive. While trekking in groups there are bound to be one or two who have no sense of fear at all .Dont let them take decisions for the entire group.Trust me lives would have been lost here.Skandagiri is very dangerous if you loose your way. There are two levels of trekking. The easy route and the difficult one.The easy route is very managable as you have a very nice footpath guiding you. The difficult route is the one where you have a very very high probability of getting lost and even dying if lost. All trekkers who trek in the above mentioned route. Please get a guide if you take the difficult route.Dont haggle too much (Its like haggling for your very own life).Never trust the guts of foolhardy suicidal group members even if they had trekked Skandagiri a 2 times etc.The truth is at night nobody will remember the route. They will trick you into a death trap.
